Description

IVAN PIDHAINYI

Born in 1987 in Rivne (Ukraine), he is a sculptor and educator specializing in contemporary academic sculpture. Trained at the National Academy of Arts and Architecture in Kyiv, he combines teaching with creation in his Barcelona-based studio. His work delves into anatomy as a symbolic territory, exploring the transformation of the body and its emotional states through stone, ceramics, and resin.

The forms he sculpts oscillate between the figurative and the dreamlike, revealing inner tensions, fragility, and strength. Together with curator Kateryna Pidhayna, he co-directs Test Gallery — a space dedicated to showcasing contemporary Ukrainian art in Europe.
